IN-HOUSE PRECIOUS-METAL REFINING & COMMERCIAL SERVICES

Precious metals. Refining, recovery and trading.

RefineX works with businesses handling valuable metal-bearing materials. From assay and testing to in-house refining, metal recovery, purchasing and trading, we help establish the appropriate processing or commercial route for qualifying materials.

01 / ABOUT REFINEX

Focused precious-metal services, based in Johannesburg South.

RefineX is the trading name of The Gold and Diamond Dealer (Pty) Ltd. We provide in-house refining and recovery alongside assay, testing, outright purchasing, metal trading and brokerage.

We start with the material’s source, quantity, known composition and the commercial outcome required. Receiving, weighing, sampling, assay and processing support the final documented result.

We work with precious-metal dealers, jewellers, mining businesses, recyclers and other qualifying commercial customers.

  • Platinum
  • Palladium
  • Rhodium
  • Other PGMs

Other metals

  • Copper

Mining-related materials

Mining ore, material from mine dumps and related metal-bearing feedstocks assessed for composition, provenance and suitability.

03

Specialised electronic components

Selected electronic components with potentially recoverable metals. This does not mean automatic acceptance of electronic waste.

04

04 / HOW IT WORKS

A documented route from enquiry to final report.

Receiving, weighing, sampling, assay, processing and final reporting form our refining workflow. The applicable service and terms are agreed for each transaction.

Before material is received: begin an enquiry, complete relevant KYC and material-source checks, and agree the service and receiving instructions.

  1. 01

    Receiving

Record accepted material and the agreed handover.

  2. 02

    Weighing

  3. 03

    Sampling

    Prepare relevant representative test samples.

  4. 04

    Assay

Establish the metal content for the agreed work.

  5. 05

    Processing

Carry out the agreed in-house refining or recovery.

  6. 06

    Final reporting

Provide the recorded result and next commercial step.

Two different transaction routes

Toll refining

Agreed in-house processing, final reporting and metal-return or accounting terms under the refining work order.

Outright purchase

Material assessment, assay-based valuation and settlement under the purchase agreement. Refining is not an assumed step in every purchase.

Material acceptance, custody, ownership, any return and settlement obligations depend on the specific written agreement. Do not send material without instructions.

06 / QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Before you make an enquiry.

These answers explain the enquiry process. Any accepted agreement governs the transaction.

Get in touch
Which metals can I enquire about?

RefineX considers gold, silver and platinum-group metals, including platinum, palladium and rhodium, as well as copper- and chrome-related industrial materials. Availability depends on material type, composition, quantity and the agreed service.

Who can contact RefineX?

Our services are aimed at precious-metal dealers, jewellers, mining businesses, recyclers and other commercial customers. Relevant customer and material verification may include KYC, provenance records and industry-specific licence checks.

Where is RefineX based?

RefineX operates from Johannesburg South, Gauteng, and offers in-house refining. Please arrange material delivery or a visit in advance using the agreed receiving instructions.

Can I enquire about specialised electronic components?

Yes. Tell us what components you have, their origin, quantity and any known metal content. RefineX considers specialised components individually; hazardous, restricted and unsuitable materials are excluded.

What if I do not know the metal content?

Tell us what you know about the material, its source and approximate quantity. Sampling, assay or testing may help determine content and suitability before refining or purchasing terms are agreed.

How does an enquiry progress?

We review material and relevant customer information, agree the service or purchasing arrangement, and document receiving, weighing, sampling and assay where applicable. In-house processing and final reporting follow for refining, while purchasing follows its own valuation and settlement terms.
