Cookie Policy

1. What this policy covers

This Cookie Policy explains cookies and similar browser technologies relevant to https://refinex.org/ and the choices available to visitors. It should be read together with the Privacy Policy.

A cookie is a small text file that a website or service may ask your browser to store. Related technologies may include local browser storage and security or session identifiers. Not every external link, image or web request sets a cookie.

2. Technologies relevant to the RefineX website

WordPress administration. The website is built on WordPress. WordPress uses authentication and administrative cookies for authorised people who sign in to manage the website. These are not a general-purpose visitor marketing subscription.

Website operations and protection. The website uses a contact form and has server-side security measures. Technical systems may process request identifiers, logs and other information necessary for reliable operation and protection against misuse. Whether a particular measure stores a browser cookie must be established from a technical inspection rather than assumed.

External contact links. Choosing to open WhatsApp or another external service takes you to that service, where its own privacy and cookie practices may apply. An outbound link alone does not mean RefineX placed that provider’s cookies in your browser.

Additional embedded resources. Any fonts, media, analytics or other resources loaded from outside RefineX must be reviewed individually to determine whether they set cookies or process personal information. A resource is not classified as an advertising or analytics cookie without evidence of what it does.

3. Cookie categories and purposes

The following categories explain how any cookies discovered in the technical inventory should be classified:

  • Essential / security: Needed for site administration, access control, core security or operation.
  • Functional: Remembering preferences or providing an optional feature requested by a visitor.
  • Analytics: Measuring website use or performance through identifiers, where deployed.
  • Marketing / advertising: Supporting targeted advertising or campaign tracking, where deployed.

4. Your choices

You can normally inspect and manage cookies in your browser’s privacy or site settings. You can block or clear cookies, although disabling technology necessary for sign-in or core website functions may affect those functions.

Where a non-essential technology requires consent or another visitor choice under applicable law, RefineX must provide and respect the relevant choice before that technology is used as required. Browser settings do not replace a consent control when the law requires one.

5. Personal information and third parties

If a cookie or related technology processes personal information, the Privacy Policy and relevant POPIA requirements apply. A provider acting for the business must be assessed against suitable security and privacy requirements. External services may operate under their own notices.
